We are one of the few bodegas in Mallorca where you can enjoy both our wine-growing area and the production room and aging room in the same place during your visit. Discover the magic of the production of our wines and of course you can also taste them.

Sa Rota

The Bodegas Bordoy wine-growing area is characterized by the soil made up of "marès", a stone very typical of the coastal area of Llucmajor and Mallorca. Under the sandstone, in the deepest and oldest layers, there are layers of marine sediments with diverse microflora and fauna. Tiny little fossils, skeletons of tiny creatures or parts of larger creatures that cannot be seen at first glance, the microfossils. With countless shapes and colors, they are true wonders of nature that can only be seen with a magnifying glass or under a microscope.

"Rotas" or "rotes" were wooded areas, in mountain or wasteland, an acre in size and privately owned. There are documents from the 15th and 16th centuries about rotas and roters in the Marina de Llucmajor area. The "roters" were farmers who cultivated these areas and in return gave the owner of the finca part of the harvest. Bodegas Bordoy's vineyards are located on one of these rotes that used to belong to Finca Sa Torre.

On the label of this wine we can see, from a bird's eye view, the current shape of the land adjacent to the vineyards of Bodegas Bordoy.
